FAQs
***Due to extremely high interest from inquiring families, new applications are currently on hold**
How much do your puppies cost?
Our puppies are priced at $3000 CAD + GST/PST. This price includes CKC registration (with a non-breeding contract), your puppy’s first set of core vaccinations / veterinary examination, the appropriate dosages of dewormer, a puppy care kit to take home, and 30 days of Trupanion pet insurance with a go-home day offer that waives any waiting period if it is activated the day you bring your puppy home. We also provide a 2-year genetic health guarantee, and lifetime breeder support with all our puppies.
Do you have any available puppies now?
Occasionally, if we have more families than expected postpone bringing their companions home, we have puppies available from current litters. Check our Available Now page for details! Otherwise, our wait list is approximately 1 year long. Deposits are due prior to females being bred, as we breed litters based on demand and how much interest we have in our puppies.
How do I get on your waiting list?
We want your family to be matched with a puppy that will fit your family’s lifestyle and bring you the joy that a family pet should. To achieve this, we have an application form that all interested families must fill out prior to being considered for our waitlist. We realize this form is long and may seem daunting, but there are no wrong answers and it is simply a way for us to start getting to know you and what you are looking for in your puppy. After we review your written application, we schedule a video call with each family so we can meet “face-to-face” and get a better feel for what you are looking for in a puppy, which helps us match you with the right personality of dog.
Once your application is reviewed and approved, a deposit of $650 CAD is required to hold your spot on our official waitlist. The deposit goes towards the total purchase price of your puppy.
Please review our Application & Placement Process page for more specific information on our process.
Are deposits refundable or transferrable to future litters?
Deposits are non-refundable, but they are ALWAYS transferrable to future litters should the right puppy not come available right away, or if there is a reason you aren’t able to take your puppy home when one becomes available to your family.
Do I get to choose my puppy?
We always work hard to accommodate family preferences on colour and gender, however we believe temperament is most important when placing a puppy with their forever family. We always welcome family input; however, the breeder has the most experience with individual puppy temperaments and placing puppies and therefore reserves the right to choose puppies for each family. Puppies are not placed until at least 7 weeks of age.
Please review our Application & Placement Process page for more specific information on our process.
Can I meet the dogs and/or puppies?
We welcome you to schedule an individual video call with us, so you can meet the dogs we have in our home and get a feel for their individual personalities, as well as their living environment. We do not allow in-person visitors, outside of those who are on our wait list. This policy is in place to protect our privacy and security, as well as to protect our home and dogs from transmissible disease.
We do set up one “visit day” for families already on our waitlist, that are purchasing a puppy from a current litter on the ground. We try to schedule this visit day when puppies are around 7 weeks of age, so that families can meet the puppies and we can get a feel for how each puppy interacts with each family. We have strict protocols that will be communicated to the families prior to visit day to protect our puppies and home.
Visits are ALWAYS by appointment only.
When can I bring my puppy home?
Puppies must be a minimum of 8 weeks of age before being removed from their littermates and placed in their forever home. The breeder is able to keep puppies free of charge until 9 weeks of age; a daily boarding fee applies for each day the breeder cares for the puppy after 9 weeks old.
Do you take payments on puppies?
Yes! You are welcome to make payments on your puppy anytime after they are born. Full payment is due by the time puppies are picked up by their families.
Do you dock puppy’s tails?
NO! In 2016, the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia voted to disallow their membership to crop ears or dock tails of dogs for cosmetic purposes. Unless there is a medical reason to dock a tail (due to severe injury or disease), all our puppies come with their tails intact.
